Should writers and contributors using CMS have a say in how a web site renders text and paragraphs?

Opinions differ. I consider this a much tougher question than it seems at first, even in these times of UX and Rich Internet Applications.

Take a peek at the forums at Drupal's website and you are granted a first hand experience on the actual meaning of infoglut: the pages host the official documentation and the most popular forums and so much information is available on so many interweaving topics you have a really hard time finding out what's relevant for you.

For those interested, here are the original slides (in PDF format) from my presentation at the Italian IA Summit.
This a quick and dirty introduction to what Abulafia is all about. Although the goals are somewhat in a flux and shifting in accordance to what's going on with my Ph.D., topic maps, CMS, TMRQL and general IA and classification issues should be part of the final picture.

Imagine if it were possible to extract the knowledge contained within documents (not just the knowledge about the documents) and manage it in a knowledge base that is continually being updated with new information, both manually and automatically.
